Your initial appointment will consist of a comprehensive initial exam and x-rays (if none have been provided) explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Occasionally, treatment can be performed the same day as the consultation.
However, a complex medical history or treatment plan may require two or more appointments - an evaluation appointment and an appointment to provide treatment on another day.
A unique aspect of patient care at Southern Heights Dental Group is our personalized care. To provide the best and most personal patient services possible, Southern Heights Dental Group assigns each patient an individual patient services coordinator. This patient coordinator will be your resource for patient orientation, care information, appointment scheduling, insurance questions and financing options. You can count on your patient services coordinator to be your personal source for treatment information specific to you.

IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the initial visit.
If you have had any of the following medical conditions please consult your physician PRIOR to your appointment. Those medical conditions include: Heart murmur, Cardiac pacemaker, Mitral valve prolepses, Rheumatic or Scarlet fever, artificial heart valves, joint replacements or implants. Antibiotic treatment may be required prior to any dental treatment.
What to Bring to your Initial Appointment
- Previous X-rays (if applicable)
- A list of your current medical prescriptions
- If you have medical or dental insurance, bring your dental card. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
X-Rays
 If X-rays have previously been taken by a dentist, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office at your appointment. If additional films are necessary, we can take them at our facility.
